April -the recap

With a a new born I have learned that not everything goes as smoothly or as easily as it once did, I have to plan out every part of my day and even then it doesn't usually go as planned.  With that said I have been meaning to do this post for 2 weeks now.

Henry is amazing! He is the cutest little guy out there... he is a great baby. At one month he is starting to smile... but really only at me, he really only likes me, he can hold his head up, and is always surprising me with how good he is. Current nicknames include: Henners, Baby, My Baby, and Henryetta (all said in an extremely high pitched baby voice)

His hair is ALWAYs out of control... but it is really fluffy after a bath. Poor kid.

Henry's first Easter was pretty chill... as you can tell he loved his basket and was really excited about the shorts and the chocolate eggs.

And we made him wear this hat...

Other happenings in April include:
- 4 years of Marriage! Love your Georgeie
- And that's about it, Henry is now 6 weeks out so we are out and about more.... more fun things to come!

P.S. not sure about this new blogger set up...

Bathtime!

Henry's little belly bottom came off and we were so excited to give him a real bath... I was a little nervous he would hate it... but it turns out he LOVED it! He did not move at first but then he got more comfortable and was lovin it! As you can see from his face he was a little confused at first.

Birth

I have had a few people ask me to blog about how it allll went down with the labor and delivery of our sweet boy. SO here is it is, if you are uninterested in the details check out the post below which includes all the need to know details.

So here we go...

March 25, 2012

3:30pm ish- George and I are watching some thing on TV, i'm thinking it was Frozen Planet... i feel i strange pain, and think to myself that was weird. Then about 15 mins later it happened again... OK so now i start paying attention and low and behold HOLY CRAP i am having contractions regular, timely, uncomfortable contractions.

5:00 pm- finally tell George I am having contractions every 10 mins. I go lay down. I did not want to go to the hospital until i was for sure in labor... I had a fear of going to the hospital and then being set home.

7:30 pm- OK FINE lets go to the hospital...

8:15 pm- dilated to a 2... bad blood pressures

9:15 pm run labs blood pressure still high

10:15 pm- Doctor will not let me go home because of the high blood pressure so we are transferred to a delivery room and we start the induction process in order to get things moving right along.

March 26, 2012
12:30 am- Dr comes in and gives me Cervatil. I am then left alone so that Cervatil can do its job. I am still having contractions every 5 mins that are getting more and more uncomfortable and I did not sleep one little bit that night.

10:30 am- Checked again I was at about a 5-6. REJOICE!! I really really wanted to get at least half way before i got an epidural so she says i'm at a 5
and I have to really stop myself from jumping for joy.

11:20 am- Epidural is given and I am checked again about about 7 with a "paper thin" cervix. With the epidural i was finally able to get some rest.

1:30pm- broke my water... ut oh baby boy has pooh himself, we will have to keep on eye on that.

2:30 pm- Started on pitocin

3:30 pm- At a 10 and ready to push!

4:30 pm- Start pushing (we had to wait for the doctor). Pushing was an out of body kind of experience, I can not even put it into words. I was very quiet, my mom said "don't be afraid to make noise" I was very clam through out the whole thing, its still very surreal to even think about.

5:25 pm- We have a baby! 7 pounds 14 ounces 20 3/4 inches. The nurse said that most first time moms have to push for a long time like 3 hours some times... I was NOT going to let that happen, I was watching the clock like a crazy person. I knew that if it went over an hour i was going to have issues. The closer we got to that hour mark the more and more determined I got in my pushing.

IT WAS amazing! I could not have asked for a better labor. I did not want pitocin but i was only on it for about 2 hours and i felt ok with that.

George was a champ and was way more involved then he thought he was going to be, he was a fantastic leg holder and he was amazing face wiper (I was SOOOOO hot and sweaty, it was gross).

And now we have a sweet baby boy! We just love him. He is amazing and I am in awe of him everyday. I feel blessed to have had such an easy pregnancy and an "easy" labor and delivery. We just love our little Henry more and more everyday!

37 Weeks

37 weeks! EEEKKK!

As you can see I'm looking more and more disheveled... my shirts are all too short, and I don't want to buy any more cause its almost baby time, I wear yoga pants to work every day and you are lucky if I have make up on. I have floated through this pregnancy and they weren't lying when they said the 3rd trimester was hard... its rough!

Top 10 things on my mind lately (in no order)

1. Will i ever sleep through the night again????
2. HOLY CRAP i have to get this baby out of me somehow??!!
3. George has started sleeping on the couch more then 50% of the time (i kept waking him up so he moved)
4. My dreams have turned into dreams of a crazy person! Seriously I wake up thinking... what just happened and how did my mind even come up with that...
5. What, I'm going to have a baby soon... really... that's scary!
6. only 2 more weeks of work!
7. My emotions are out of control... one minute i'm freaked out about the baby coming, the next I want to kill anyone that looks at me and the next I'm just as happy as can be.
8. Random people suddenly think its ok to ask me personal questions about my baby,
9. I hope we are prepared (just need to pack the hospital bags). We had an amazing baby shower a month ago and we are soo blessed to have the friends we have. Baby George was very spoiled.
10. We are SOOOOOO excited! I cant wait to see this little guy, every time he kicks me in the ribs I love him and more.

Baby watch 2012 is officially on. keep your cell phones on people.

The Babymoon

As a last trip before the baby comes we went to Las Vegas (and we dragged the Jackson's with us). We bought a 2 night stay at one of those timeshare things, so we got a great deal and then we had to go to a stupid presentation... but the hotel was great.

The drive from Phoenix to Las Vegas is a dullllll one! I'm not even kidding, its mostly a 2 lane highway the whole time with very few places to stop and use the bathroom... which is unfortunate for a pregnant person. But we made it.... we just hung out at the hotel friday night and played a fun new game.

Saturday we had the stupid "buy a timeshare" presentation. and then we went to the Strip! We went to MGM grand... one casino we had never been in.

All the casinos were all decked out for Chinese new year... so there are lots of dragons and fireworks and fun. And yes those are real lions at the MGM.

We took a break and watched the water show at the Bellagio.

I was really excited for some reason... and George was... just there.

We then went into the Bellagio and checked out the gardens and ate at the Buffet... and it was delicious! We were tooo hungry and then tooo full to take in pictures at the buffet, but my favorite part was when Becky came back with a plate full of small desserts... it was pretty funny. There is no shame in her game! haha

Its the year of the dragon... so that's a good thing for Baby George... its suppose to be the luckiest of all the Chinese zodiac symbols... (google it).

The next day we had to be out of the hotel at 10 am so we got up and got ready and headed out. We stopped by the Hoover dam. Which is AMAZING! Its huge.

And yes we played up every "Dam" joke we could... :)

Thanks to the Jacksons for coming with us, it was more fun with friends. (This is the only pictures I have of them... and Declan is the only one looking, and his hand is in his face... typical)

And now I'm 32 weeks... and we have one more trip planned to California for birthday weekend and then its baby time!

As for today, I have to rewash some shirts because a chap stick made it into the dryer... good times!
